Winter is on its way and as the temperatures drop, it’s more important than ever to protect your dog from the elements. Many people assume that because a dog wears a permanent fur coat, he’s insulated from temperature drops. Although dogs may suffer less from a drop in temperatures, winter conditions can still take their toll on your best friend unless you take measures to “winterize” your dog. When wind chills drop to near zero, it’s important to protect your dog from hypothermia and, potentially, death. Here are some ways to protect your dog from the elements this winter:

The Belgian Sheepdog is an elegant dog that moves with fluid agility, but is hardy enough to adapt to extreme climates and temperatures.   The Belgian Sheepdog is also recognized by the AKC  as the Groenendael or Chien de Berger Beige, as the breed is known in Europe and other parts of the world.  Developed in Belgium as a herding dog, the Belgian Sheepdog is a versatile working dog that is easily trained to a variety of tasks.

The English bulldog is a medium-sized dog of British origin. It is low to the ground, with a barrel chest and a ‘smushed’ face. The male typically weighs 5o lbs (22.6kg), but the United Kingdom standard is 55 lbs, with some reaching as much as 70 lbs (31kg).

Its gives us peace of mind to know that we are prepared for anything. So, we buy insurance, feed our savings accounts, and keep emergency numbers by the phone, knowing that we have everything covered. But we don’t.
