If you are trying to incorporate more greens into your diet, you should definitely experiment with recipes that contain kale. Kale is considered to be extremely nutritious because it is packed with vitamins and minerals, and it is also a powerful antioxidant. Additionally, it is a good source of protein and dietary fiber. Although kale is not commonly used in many American kitchens, it is surprisingly easy to cook with and can be prepared in a wide variety of ways.

One of the easiest ways to prepare kale is by adding it to soups and stews. Because of its firm texture, kale holds up well in liquids, and also retains a good amount of flavor. No matter what base recipe you use, you can make it more nutritious by including kale in the ingredients. For example, if you are making chicken soup, it is very easy to chop up some kale and add it to the simmering liquid. Kale is quite popular in vegetarian cooking, and it goes especially well with any soup or stew that contains beans, lentils or potatoes.

Another easy way to use kale is to add it to your favorite pasta dish. If you normally add spinach to your lasagna, you can replace this with kale. You can also do the same thing with your favorite recipe for stuffed shells. Kale also adds a nice pop of color to any pasta with light or white sauce. You can sauté kale along with garlic and olive oil before adding this mixture to penne or farfalle.

Although there are many recipes for cooking kale, you can also eat it raw. If you enjoy eating salad, you may want to try adding thin slices of kale to the mix of greens. If you like the way this combination tastes, you can always use thicker pieces next time. Kale is a member of the cabbage family, so it can easily be used in coleslaw. You can either replace the cabbage with kale, or you can try mixing the two greens together.

If you really don’t like eating greens, you can still enjoy the health benefits of kale. One creative way to slip kale into your morning routine is to blend it into a smoothie. You can easily add one or two leaves to your favorite fruit smoothie recipe, and you won’t even notice a difference in the taste. Another way to incorporate kale into your diet is to try some baked kale chips. You can make your own, or you can buy a bag from the store. With so many different ways to enjoy kale, you are sure to find one that’s right for you.
