Default Art Therapy

My son with ADD has started an Art Therapy group at school. Two afternoons a week he stays after school and does projects in the art room. We had to buy him a special pack of colored pencils, but the other supplies are provided. He loves it! They offer the classes for grief counseling and for children of divorce. It seems to be a popular and effective program.

Art therapy is wonderful and can help a whole host of disorders. I have a friend with an autistic child who had a lot of success with art therapy and also equine therapy (horseback riding). Creating something can be so calming and a great way to channel energy. I would think it would be perfect for a hyperactive child.
