Default birth control went missing

Not exactly missing but right now my wife is trying to get a hold of her old doctors office because she did one of those five year birth control things. I forget what they are called but we can not remember the date she had it done, who knows we might be expecting sometime in the next few months.

I hope she can get in touch with her old doctor's office. That is pretty scary! I bet she won't choose that form of birth control again. There are so many forms out there, patch, pill or shot. I was thinking of trying Depo (shot).

Good luck with that! Does she have to have it removed? I would be more worried about that... You know getting it out so there is not a problem. I don't know anything about those things - whatever they are called.

That's why I prefer the pill - you just have more control over knowing when you have taken it. I am not forgetful on a daily basis but I would be forgetting over a long period of time like that.

I have never done well with the pill I can not remember to take it even with reminders. I would much rather stay with mirena, that is (I think) what manny is talking about here, it lasts for five years.

I hope you can get that figured out! That's pretty important! I am somewhat of an obsessive planner. I write down every appointment and keep my planners from years back.

It is always best to keep a backup plan, that is what happens sometimes and then someone gets upset about an unwanted pregnancy. I never worry about it anymore thankfully (got fixed).

I agree - everybody should have a backup plan! It is good to get that checked out as soon as possible because missing an appointment can set off different hormones and lead you away form your regular cycle.

I could just never get excited about the types of birth control where they leave something inside you... just not a natural thing to me. Of course we haven't decided if we are done with kids yet so we are just "being careful".
