Default dinner time

What is the normal dinner time for everyone here? Sometimes my better half gets home late due to a long commute and being tied up at work past the cut off hour. Does anyone have a real supper time anymore?

I'm wondering that too tinas. With everyone going different ways and getting home at different times, it seems almost impossible to have a set time for everyone to sit down at the table and eat.

We usually eat at 6pm - anything later and I don't think we have time to digest the food before bed. Of course if we are running here and there sometimes our dinner is later.

We usually eat between 5:30 and 6:00. I would prefer to eat a little later, but my two and a half year old is programed to have dinner at that time and she'll pitch a fit if I'm late.

We try to eat by 6pm each night too but it rarely happens. One child is in a school sport and they have practice from 5-7. Another child is in band/chorus and works too and they are usually gone from 6-8. It's a busy time right now. I cook and we eat when we can.

I work 3-11 PM, so when I'm at work we usually eat around 7 PM, depending on how busy we are. All the guys try to eat together whenever we can. It's not always possible. Sometimes we're so busy going from call to call to call that we don't eat at all. When I'm off, my family usually eats around 6:00 PM.

I try to have dinner cooked and on the table no later than 6:00. My goal is 5:30, and in an ideal world that is when it's served. It is so important for me to have dinner as a family. When dinner is on the table, the TV is off and there are no games, ipods, or books allowed at the table. Family time is important. I'm old fashioned.

I think it just depends on the family, ours can be different any single day of the week even the weekends. Today was nuts we actually were running around for errands so much today we had lunch at 3pm!

Dinner is usually between 6:30 and 7:00, but definitely there are times when all members can't be at the table at the said time because some arrive home late due to work and other commitments. It's great to have the whole family be on time for dinner, but sometimes there are things that get in the way.

We try to eat around 6:00 or so and we try to make it a meal where everyone sits down together and talks. I'm sure that won't last forever as the kids get older and more involved in sports and hold down jobs. But it's working for us so far.
