Between myself and SIL there are only a few things that you can tell spot on are different between the both of us. For one, she is far more girlie than I am . The big issue though is I do not want to get between her and her mom, her mom tends to favor the fact that I am buying my own home where her daughter (and baby of three) is renting one. Help?!

I try to stay out of any family drama. In all fairness, if she isn't planning on stay in the home that long, it does make sense to rent it instead of having a mortgage to worry about.

BeesWax is right. I don't get involved in stuff like that because drama just leads to more drama. Your MIL doesn't really have the right to judge the choices her daughter is making. Maybe she just isn't ready to settle down into anything permanent yet.
