Default How long do you keep the tree up?

Just wondered how long some of you keep your Christmas tree up? We usually take ours down within a few days. Then any and all decorations start to come down after that. Normally by the first everything is all done and put away.

I'm going to try to get everything down this week. We leave for Texas soon for my sons surgery, and I would like the house cleaned up before then. Will make things easier too for my friend who stays here while we are gone.

We are ready to take ours down now and all the other decorations to go with it. Once Christmas is over I like to get it all down and put away. Not sure what kind of surgery your son is having Jason but I hope all goes well. Take care.

We usually start taking it down four or five days afterwards then all the decorations inside and out. I like everything all put away before the first comes around.

He is getting his palate fixed. He was born with a cleft lip and palate. He is also slightly tongue tied, they will fix that, and put tubes in his ears as he has some fluid behind them due to the palate issue.

But I wanted to report the inside is done. Tomorrow I'll do the outside if it is not raining. Saturday a friend should be over if he is not here tomorrow to help put stuff away in the attic.

We are not allowed to take anything down until the day before the New Year and it has to come down that day since its the last of the year. No idea where we got the crazy tradition from but its been that way for years.

I hope all goes well Jason...

Our tree will come down today! The needles are falling quicker then I can sweep them up. That is the sure telltale time to take it down. All other decorations will stay up.

Well we got ours down last night and most all the decorations are in the boxes ready to go back into storage for another year. Once Christmas is over I really don't like having everything still up for a long time afterwards, so down it comes.

We always keep the tree up through NYE's. We go through all the trouble making it pretty I like to keep it on display as long as possible. Usually a day or two after NYE's it comes down.
