I know we have some moms here so I thought I would ask...what age is a good one to introduce Barbie dolls? My little one will be 3 in January and I was thinking of getting her one for Christmas. Is she still too young for that?
I think that's about the age I started to have Barbies and similar dolls. I think it's important to pay attention though. Some pieces are not meant for 3-year-olds, like the small shoes.
I think that is the perfect age. You can see if she likes them or not. I wouldn't get the Moxie girls or Bratz but a Barbie doll would be fine. Does she like baby dolls?
I would say get the plainest Barbies you can find. The ones that don't have all the gadgets and accessories. You don't want them lost or swallowed. I think most Barbies have the appropriate age right on the package.
She loves baby dolls. I went ahead and got her one yesterday for Christmas. We are going to have to skip the shoes and accessories for awhile, because she has an 8 month old brother who puts everything in his mouth.
We do more dolls here in this house than Barbie. Neither of us are really into the entire "this is how a woman should look" deal but I have seen kids with them younger than three.
