Default Indoor Playground or At-Home Birthday?

My nephew is turning 4 early next month, and his parents cannot decide whether to hold the party at home or at an indoor playground. Having the party at an indoor playground seems like the more expensive choice, but at least it saves them from all the hassles of preparing and cleaning when the party is done at home.

I would go with the at-home birthday, but that is just personal preference. So far we haven't done anything but small family parties at home.

I would say it would depend on how many kids were going to be coming to the party. If I had a nice size yard and wanted to save some money, I would have it at home.

I think both options are good ideas. At four, your nephew is old enough to have an opinion, so what does he say? Personally, I would go through anything within reason to give my daughter the party she wants.

We always had parties for our sons at home. It just seemed more personal and the boys enjoyed the fun of decorating beforehand and setting up various games and activities to do at the party.

I would go with the indoor playground. It's so much less of a hassle. There is no clean-up either. The kids will have a ball too! They can play, get tired out and sleep well that night.

You can have a party at your home but just don't serve food directly to the kids. Make them eat the cake in the kitchen or something.
