Default Insurance, have some?

I have been talking to a few friends lately and I am almost shocked at how many do not have health insurance or life insurance. Its something I ended up getting right after I finished school when I moved out on my own. Is this common?

Yeah there are a lot of people who do not have health insurance. They say it is in the millions and millions. I wonder how Obama's health care bill will change that.

I have both health and life insurance. It's important to have both when you have kids. I can't imagine having to go to the hospital without insurance. It could bankrupt you.

I have both too and I'm not surprised at the number of people who don't have it. It is expensive to have health insurance (premiums keep going up), and the economy is so poor still.

The sad thing about health insurance is that it's so expensive. It seems the only way to get it is through work but more and more companies don't offer it, which is really sad. My boyfriend has been working at his job over a year and they purposely give him less than 40 hours so they aren't required to give him insurance. It's a bunch of crap imo. People deserve to have insurance. What are we supposed to do if something bad happens?

I have health insurance for my wife and child. I wish I could change my wifes, as it is horrible, but only one company in our state offers pregnancy. I am thinking of looking for a new company for my daughter. I have been having problems finding my own.

I'm lucky enough to live in the UK where we have free NHS treatment and although some people still have health insurance and get a more luxurious experience, I have found that the free service has always met the needs of me and my family.
