Default Kids and organized summer sports.

My son is 4 and this is his first year in little league baseball(tee-ball). I was kind of hesitant to start him this early, but my husband wanted to give it a shot. Well, he has three, six inning games each week which take about 90 minutes to play. I was just wondering if this is typical for kids this age? Anyone else have this experience? It just seems to be a bit much, but so far our son is still enjoying it.

How old was your child when they started playing organized sports? What sport did they start with and did they continue on with it for seasons after?

90 minute games for a 4 year old? I cannot imagine it's going to be easy coaching a bunch of little kids for that long. That's a bit much if you ask me. 45 minutes would be plenty enough for them to do what they need to at that age.

I like organized sports for children but the younger ones should have shorter times.

Wow that is a lot for a 4 year old. I have a nephew who is in T-ball and he has 1 fame a week and it takes about 1 hour. My daughter has been playing softball for many years. Her games last up to 2 hours- but she is a lot older and it's her 7th year of playing.

How often do they practice? I think that the league is a bit much for that age!

How is he liking it though?
