| Loneliness Being alone does not mean loneliness, but sometimes, loneliness is triggered by a song, a place, a memory. I never knew that a person can feel lonely even in the midst of a happy celebration with a group of friends... |

| Loneliness is a difficult thing. You are right about the definitions, though. Being a loner is one thing; being someone who is content to be alone is one thing; but being someone who is on their own when they don't want to be is something totally different. |

| I have had a hard time with loneliness lately myself. I have a husband and kids but I still feel lonely sometimes. I think a lot of it is I am missing my mom, dad, and sister. |

| Oh gosh yes! There is a song called "Mad World" that came from the Donnie Darko movie. I'm not sure who sings it but it is so sad and it brings me way down if I listen to it. I think songs have a resonance and rhythm to them that can actually affect the body and mood. |

| Heck yes! You hit it right on the head... You can get the feeling anytime during the day. I know I get it when I hear certain songs, or see certain people. You can't help it. |

| The song "Everybody Hurts" by R.E.M. has got to be one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. It makes me fell lonely every time I hear it. |

| I love Mad World - it actually brings a smile to my face when I'm feeling lonely or depressed. It's a beautiful song, and one that's easy for most people to relate to when they feel isolated.
I'm usually on the edge of a crowd, not quite in the thick of it... but wherever you are in a large group of people, you're not necessarily immune to feelings of isolation. |

| Yeah sometimes I feel lonely even when I am in a crowd, but I never experienced the feel when I am with the loved ones, the people who know and understand me, the people who I feel connected with. |
