Default New Year's plans

What do you do for New Year's Eve/Day? We like to have a small bonfire and just sit outside (weather permitting) on New Year's Eve. Fireworks are a big deal around here on New Year's, so we can usually see some nice displays going on around us. This year, we're going to include our two and a half year old daughter and let her stay up a little later than usual.

Sounds like fun. We always go out to dinner with friends on New Years Eve. Then we end up at one of their houses for games. The kids love to play together.

On New Years day we usually hang home and just chill out. We tend to stay up too late on New Years Eve.

Most years I'm asleep when the ball drops. This year I have some pallets that need burning, so I will be by my fire pit. I bought my daughter some sparklers, but I doubt she will be up after 9.

Our neighborhood gets a little crazy when it comes to NE's, and everyone who can set off any type of firework will. Most times it can go until 3AM so I am sure it will be a fun night.

My husband is working today and tonight (double shift) so I'll be home enjoying New Years with my kids. One year we hopped the train into New York City. I will never do that again. It was horribly crowded and everything was triple the amount of money it normally is, which is usually a lot. What an expensive night that was! I'll watch it from my couch, thank you!

Will your husband at least be getting home before midnight? That's got to be tough to have him at work on a holiday.

Thanks for the tip about New York. Spending New Year's in NYC is something I've always wanted to do, but it sounds like more hassle than it's worth.

We'll just be hanging out at home tonight, probably eating (and drinking) a little too much!
