Default Over Tiredness

How do your kids react to their being over tired? Do they get sleepy or totally buzzed up and hyperactive? How do you handle it either way when they are not at home so they can't get to bed-I'm talking little ones, under 5.

My youngest ends up a little more evil than I do and that says lots. I have been chatting with a friend who is a new Daddy (this past year) and he sent me over a photo to tell me "That is what no sleep looks like", I laughed at him and explained thats how all parents feel sometimes.

That's funny, the men don't always get to experience the 'joy' of being up with a baby one night after the other. My baby gets extra hyperactive, aggressive and tearful until he passes out.

I think that being over tired is always so hard! I find that the kids get pretty cranky and just beyond any sort of reasoning. Of course, adults are also like this sometimes.

My darling little angel turns into a straight monster if she gets too tired. That's part of why we have been working on a schedule. I have started having to force naps even if she pitches a five alarm fit to get her to go to sleep.

Haha! I thought this was going to be about the parent sbeing overtired! My little one definitely gets very fussy if she has not had enough sleep. If her schedule gets really messed up it can take days to get back on track.

I am starting to feel overtired and I really need a vacation. The days can not get here soon enough but I always worry if I am going to end up sleeping for most of the first day.

I've been doing lots of sleeping during my free time. I definitely think that it's a good way to take care of the overtired. Even though you can't "get back" the lost sleep, you can definitely recharge your system.

My girl turns sooky and laughs but laughs hysterically at everything when she is tired but my boy will go hyperactive and will end up being a right brat.

I find if I am out and they won't get a chance to sleep for a while, I will try to keep them busy and in good spirits until they're in the car/home and they can crash.

Keep in mind they're 2 and 3 so they're not little babies anymore. With little babies I can only recommend putting them to sleep!!
