Default Toys!

I think the toys have a secret plan to take over my house. I think they breed during the night when no one is looking. After the holidays, when the kids are enamored with the new stuff, things are going to disappear. I'm going to have them go through their things and pick at least 10 things they can donate to the local homeless shelter for the kids there.

That sounds like our house. It's amazing how things accumulate. I have one little one who likes to empty the toy box and leave them. We are working on putting things back in the toy box.

That sounds like a great way to get rid of toys and to help others. You also teach the kids about giving to those less fortunate. I think I might just adopt that idea.

Have you been peeking in my closest? That is where we hide everything (and it has a lock on the door), but it seems like each time I open the door more things try to spill out and fall on me!!

I want to do this too! My problem is I have one that is nearly three and one that is just 9 months. I don't want to get rid of stuff that my 9 month old will play with later, but I am tired of toys all over the house too!

I think having the kids donate some toys is a great idea. We know a few families that do this every year before Christmas and birthdays.

We did this as kids too and honestly its the best way to rid out the toys that are being neglected. It kind of makes me think of Toy Story too.

We make at least five large trips a year to visit any place that will take donations, from toys to clothes and everything else in between. This weekend we are heading down to donate our strollers, while we tried to sell them online I guess its not the season for strollers.

I know a couple who had to put a deadbolt on their closet to keep the kids out. I remember snooping a little bit when I was younger but nothing like the kids these days.

Our kids have grown up and left us but we do have a box full of toys for the grandchildren to play with. Luckily they aren't with us long enough for toys to start taking over the house!!!

We go through around Thanksgiving and fill a box or two of toys. The wife sits down with my daughter, and do it together. She will include our son when he gets older. We then donate them to charity.

Then she gets filled up again for Christmas.
