I'm expecting in December and am worried about what to do and how I'll go. I've always had a phobia of dropping babies. I hate thinking of it but am wondering if it's worth talking to someone over it. Will my fears go away and I'll forget about it when I have the baby, or will it be a serious problem?

![]() That said, if you feel it would help you emotionally to talk with someone over it, go for it! You'll want to be as calm as possible to enjoy your pregnancy these next six months. Is there anyone you know with a baby you could spend some time with? | |

I'd have a chat with your mum about whether she ever dropped you as a baby and how she coped with it.. and pester all your mates with kids about how they coped... you'll find your fears are pretty standard and that you have nothing to worry about

Homemaker I had my first child in January and especially right before she was born I worried about everything. I think it's normal...I have never dropped her and after a week or two at home everything will come so naturally you won't remember a time when you didn't have a baby.

We all have fears about the first child. It's unknown territory, of course those fears are going to be there. It normal! The fact that you are having those fears means that you will be a good mommy because you are already worrying about him/her. You can talk to someone if need be, but you will see that once you hold that precious babies in your arms--those fears will disappear. It will be awkward for the first few days--after that, it will all come natural. Good luck.

It seems dawnting the fact of becoming a new parent for the first time, but I'm sure you'll be great Home Maker. It's like animals in the wild, they just 'know' what to do- It's maternal. vJust make sure you've always got a firm grip on the baby and are careful when walking. Goodluck!

Aw, don't worry too much dear. We all have worries, phobias and fears of some kind before the birth of our first child. It really will come naturally. Once you begin the process of holding your bundle of joy, your fear of dropping the baby will go away.

Homemaker I also have a 6 month old ( my first) and you will do just fine. I think everybody worries about their baby and if they'll be a good mom but once you hold your baby all your natural instincts will kick right in.
