We have a leash law in our area and we follow it to the letter, I do not want the fine or maybe a missing pet. We have leashes for both the dog and cat, even though the cat seldom heads outdoors. Better safe than sorry, right?

For people who live in town, I think, yes, all animals should be on a leash. I live in the middle of nowhere so my dogs just run free, but they know to stay on our property. It drives me crazy when I'm in town and I see people walking down the street with a dog that isn't on a leash. I don't think that's fair to other people.

We live in the country but we keep ours on a leash or chain when they are tied out to do their business. We have a lot of wild animals around and I don't want them following them off. I'm always afraid of them running after a deer and disappearing.
