Default All pets inside tonight!

Even though we are in Florida, the next couple of nights are suppose to be in the low 20's! We have a couple of outside cats that we have to encourage to come inside (and stay) tonight. They will come inside sometimes but don't really like to stay long. But, it will just be to cold for them to stay out.

I know what you mean about it being cold. We are also in Florida and it's suppose to be pretty cold for the next few days. I sure do hate it. We also bring in our animals at night when the temperature drops into the twenties. I also feel real sorry for all the strays out there that have to fend for themselves.

We do that too. Our cats really like to stay outside but I just have to bring them in if the weather is dropping into the 20's. They drive me nuts most of the night and are ready to head out the door in the morning.

My dog stays inside all the time, so I do not have to worry about him. He is a spoiled boy. If I had cats, I would bring them inside. How can people leave their pets to suffer in the cold? We have feral cats around here, and I always feel sorry for them. I have to keep an eye on my plants and shrubs, too. If it turns freezing I'll have to cover them up. I hate this chore.

When we had outdoor cats, I used to leave them out. I grew up on a farm, so I guess I'm just to used to believing that outdoor animals stay outdoors no matter what. They did have shelter though where they could go and snuggle up and get away from the wind.

It is freezing out there right now! I just brought in a load of wood for the wood stove. It was -2 when I woke up this morning! Nights like this I will actually get up in the middle of the night to put more wood on the fire. If I don't the house is too cold in the morning! That is where the saying "A three dog night" originated. How many dogs you needed in the bed to warm you up told how cold it was outside.

Smart! We had below zero temps here the last few nights. All of our pets are inside too. It's just too cold out to make them stay out. We have 2 that stay in the garage (2 story) and a wood stove and 2 inside our home. The 2 that stay out don't like to be in, they bark and scratch to get out. They do love the garage though!

Well we don't get it quite that cold here in Florida but we will bring ours inside if it is gong to be hitting the 20's. Thankfully it doesn't do that very often. We have a couple of outside cats that really don't like to come in and will drive you crazy wanting to go back out during the night.

I hate when I see people leaving their pets out in weather like that. Our SPCA is really good about taking reports for stuff like this and I have no issues reporting people for it either. Pets are a part of your family, would you leave your kids out in that weather?
