Default Allergic Pets?

I have a dog who is losing her hair. We thought she had hot spots but it wasn't that. Then the vet said she had a fungal infection of the skin but she has taken a months worth of an anti-fungal medication by mouth and she is still breaking out. I've shaved her and have bathed her every other day and used anti-fungal creams on her with no resolve of the problem. It seems to occur about an hour after she eats. I think she may be allergic to something in the food. I have to take her back to the vet but I don't know what else to do with her. She is itching like crazy and rubs herself against the carpet trying to scratch. What would you do?

I had never really thought that pets might be allergic to some things, but I definitely think it's possible after considering everything for a moment. People are allergic to certain things, so who's to say cats and dogs couldn't be as well?
