We buy presents for our pets too, they are part of our family. We even let them open the gifts - ok so we help a little bit. My kids love to pick out their gifts.
Nooooo, never done that. Not that I don't buy them toys and such throughout the year. Now they have "opened" some presents before that weren't theirs! Had a puppy one year and didn't think about the presents when we put them under the tree until the next morning when a few of them had been partially opened!
Oh my, I know what you mean about some presents getting 'opened' by puppies or kittens. They just can't seem to stay away. We had a puppy one time that took down our small tree three times before Christmas was over!
We buy the pets presents. The cat gets a bag of treats and the dogs get super huge bones. This year the dogs are also getting stuffed animals, but that's only because PetSmart was having a good sale on them.

we don't go all out but we do get them gifts. We usually get the cats toys and the dogs bones.
