I have this one cat that always wants to lay right next to the computer while I'm on it. I have to keep sliding her back some from my mouse because I can't move it around for her being to close. Does your cat like to be right by you while you are trying to work on the PC?
Sometimes my cat wants to be near me. She is still pretty young and will watch what I do. Occasionally she will want to sniff the screen and walks over the keyboard.
All of my cats (and the dog, too) like to sit with me when I'm on the computer. I think they do it because they can sit with me, as I am sitting still, and I will not shove them away because I do not need to be doing anything else but sitting with them.
My cat always wants to sit by the laptop. I imagine it's because of the warm air that comes out of the side. He also likes to be near me but not necessarily get attention.
