Default Cost of first shots

When we got our kitten I searched high and low for the cost of the first sets of shots. I got no real answers so I thought I would share. Our first visit was $59 dollars. That included the first set of shots, deworming and one month of flea/heartworm drops. The second visit was $69, this is when they did the second and last set of shots. The kitten had diarrhea and needed 2 kinds of antibiotics. So, the initial cost was $128 for the vet, plus kitty litter and food. Make sure you budget for that when getting a new cat.

That sounds just about right. Next you will need to get your cat fixed and that is expensive too. Plus any sickness the cat may have will cost (worming pills, flea shots and pills). Pets are not cheap but they are a ton of fun.

Owning pets is an expensive but fulfilling job. We have 2 cats and 1 dog and we make sure they go to the vets office every year for their physicals and their shots.

This was a good idea to let people know what they're getting into when they get a pet. I have three dogs and they cost me a small fortune, but they're worth it.

Just to let people considering a puppy know, my furbabies cost me $80 a month (yes, per month) just for heartworm pills and flea drops. On top of that, they eat about 80 pounds of dog food a month. Then, of course, we have the annual vet visit plus any random illnesses that may pop up. Obviously, one dog would be cheaper than three, but it is still quite costly...especially if you don't prepare for these expenses in advance of getting a pet.
