Default dog food brands

I've read that there's not that much difference in quality among the name brand and the generic brands. With several big dogs, I don't want to waste money, but I want them to get what they need. I've been using Purina, but I wonder if they would do as well on a much cheaper brand.

I'm not an expert but I think you need to read the ingredients to see what kind of 'by products' they may include. Some have better then others, more then likely the higher priced ones. But, it does pay to look and see because sometimes you really are just paying for the 'name'.
