Right now is a good time to donate to pet shelters. Do you do this? They need items all year long but right now is a great time. There are a lot of great buys out there for all pet supplies. I picked up litter, dog toys and towels all really cheap on Dec 26th. I took them to the local shelter and dropped them off. They are always looking for food, litter, toys, towels and many other things.

I am amazed at the viewers for Shorties Rescue who only donate to that, not saying its bad to donate to a single breed but all breeds need help. Shelters are so overrun is sick to think about how many lazy pet owners are not getting their pets fixed (we donate monthly to).

We always have and we have a friend down south who runs one so we can see from her work what it actually takes to make one run smooth. I am amazed more people do not donate though, I know many pet owners who have never even thought about it.

Pet shelters are always in need of something so it's good to donate whatever you can. Money is always nice but if you have merchandise such as litter, food and other necessities, it is always appreciated!

Thanks for the reminder. I don't always think about the pet shelters in the area. My kids go and donate time in the summer (walking the dogs, brushing the cats). I will drop off some items tomorrow.

I will be honest and say that I have never donated anything but money to an Animal Shelter. The thought never crossed my mind. I guess we all need reminders from time to time. I ran across a great sale on towels and dog biscuits are on sale and I have a coupon. I will get them tomorrow and drop them off.

I always donate money to shelters. I was unaware I could give other items. It has never crossed my mind. Now that, I'm aware of this, I'll be sure to donate more than money. This is beneficial to know!
