Default Hairballs

I have a cat that's about 8 years old and she has really long hair. Sometimes she will get hairballs and cough and cough. It doesn't happen that often but enough that it worries me. Is there an at home remedy for hairballs?

Yes, there is. Just go to a large retailer (somewhere they have a pet department such as K-Mart, Wal-Mart or Target) and get the Hairball Remedy-it has many different names, I think once I got a tube called Cat-Lax. My cat hates it but I usually just grab her and smear about a 1 to 1 1/2 inch portion on her front paws. They will clean it off and it's an easy way to get them to take it. I do this about once a month and it keeps my little one from having hairball attacks. One caution, they do finally learn what you are doing when you come at them with this on your finger to smear it on their paws. You sometimes have to bring a treat to get them to calm down before you do it.
