Default How do you tell?

We recently got a kitten of about three months. We got him through an adoption program at a veterinary office, and according to the classified ad, he was supposed to have had all of his shots and parasite medication and have been neutered. From looking at his anatomy, however, he doesn't appear to be neutered. Is there any way to tell for sure without taking him to a vet?

Take the little one to the vet and see if they can tell, honestly I have no clue. I never ran into this issue and everyone I know always "knew" too.

I would assume that if you got him through a veterinery office, they wouldn't sell an un-spayed male cat- but they may have missed him by mistake. At 3 months you should expect to see a small scrotum under the anus. This will become very obvious when he is about 6 months old.

If he isn't neutered then he will start spraying (urinating) around the house etc. It's a gross territorial thing. If you don't get it done before he starts then he'll never stop.

Please take him to the vet to be sure- the world does not need any more unwanted kitties.
