We have a problem with feral cats showing up around our place. Well, they now have more kittens. Two got killed on the road night before last and because it's warm, the other two are continuing to lay on the road when it gets dark. Even though we live in a dead end road, the boys up the road have tons of friends who race up and down the road. They are the ones who ran over the first two and I'm afraid the other two are going to die soon. I've tried to run them off but it's just not happening and there's nothing I can do about it. It makes me feel so powerless.

How very sad! You don't want them all there but you don't want them hit in the road either. Have you called an animal shelter? I know the ones around here are pretty useless - they already have too many kittens, but it's worth a shot.

Where are all of the cats coming from? Have you checked with any neighbors who might be feeding them but not allowing them in the house? This is why overpopulation is such an issue, people only take 1/2 the responsibility.
