One of my grandsons who are coming to live with me wants a ferret. He is 10 and he thinks they are just the very thing to have. I don't think I'll like it, I've heard they have a strange musk scent. I don't mind as long as it doesn't stink and we can train it. Has anyone here had a ferret? Can you tell me about them?
We had a ferret once and let me tell you, NEVER again will I come into contact with one. Not only do these little things stink, they are meaner than all get out. I'd never have one around a child. They look innocent enough but I assure you they aren't. I've heard others who loved them but my experience was dreadful.
Thank you for the advice. I'm saying "no" to the request and offering to give him a dog or a cat instead. I think it would be better to have a more domesticated animal and something that is easier to take care of. Thanks again!
