I know that dogs like to mark their territory but what happens when another dog is visiting and the household dog tries to mark its owner? Is that even possible??

I haven't heard of a dog doing that. I think it's much more likely to happen on walls, furniture, and floors. You may be able to prevent it by giving your dog a lot of extra attention.
