Default Nasty Tempered Cat

I have a cat that I found as a kitten at the next door neighbor's house. They didn't want it so I took it in, had it's shots given and had it neutered (it's a male). He is probably around 2 years old now and every now and again, he decides he wants to bite us. I have no idea what triggers this as we leave him alone for the most part. He usually doesn't break the skin but I'm afraid some day he is going to. How do I teach him not to bite us and how can I predict this unpredictable little devil.

Do you know anything more about the cats past? Maybe the past owners or how long its been out in the streets for (if it were a roaming type)? Sometimes cats get a little picky when it comes to new surroundings.

Oh my, that can be dangerous! Just be careful with him and make sure he is always up on his shots. It's a shame you don't know what happened. Some cats ARE just moody though.
