We have just went and adopted a cat from the local humane society. She is about 3 years old. The kids wanted a kitten but I didn't. Her name is Sparky, and she is a sweetie.

That is great! I love seeing people adopt from the humane society, it's a great feeling isn't it. I bet the cost was great too and aren't they already fixed and have their shots?

I have adopted from the Humane Society before. It is really rewarding to know that you're saving a life. They do have their shots, but they aren't always fixed. I think if you adopt one that isn't fixed they give you a voucher to take them to a Humane Society sanctioned vet to get it done.

The unwanted/stray animal population is really out of control. It would be great if everybody looking for a pet would go to the Humane Society or a local shelter. That's great that you did that, Kailey.
