It's too late for me to purchase this as my dog is getting up there in years, but I saw at my vet that they now offer insurance that you can purchase for your pets. I think that this might be a good idea for someone with a new puppy or kitten. The cost of veterinary care has gotten so expensive, anything that can help with the costs really has to be considered.

Have you purchased pet insurance? If so, what are the costs and terms of coverage? Is this something you would consider?

I don't think your dog is too old to get it. As far as I know your pet doesn't have to do anything to qualify. I would recommend going ahead and getting it. As, our pets get older they have more health problems that arise and pet insurance can be a big help.
