Default Pet Restraints

I know how to restrain dogs when we go out-we use halters or collars and a leash. The thing I need to know is, how do I restrain a cat to go out into public? I would love to be able to take my cat along on a walk or to the park but I have no way to restrain them and I'm afraid to lose them. Does anyone have any ideas?

It is possible to leash train a cat. I had an orange tabby that would walk on a leash the same way a dog would. He may actually have been better behaved than most dogs on a leash, lol. It just takes some time and a lot of patience. I would start at home on your own property and get him acclimated to the collar and leash before you venture out to a park.

Cats can definitely be trained to use a leash, just like a dog. It may take longer if your cat is older, though. Start around the house to get them used to it and then slowly start outside until they are fully used to it.
