Default Raw food diet for your dog, yay or nay?

I've been hearing more and more about how better it is for your dog. The wife recently made treats for our dog which he loves.

I hear things like raw veggies, meat trimmings, and rice are good for the pet.

I've heard that before too, Jason, but I could not imagine my dog on a raw diet. I mean, she would eat it, but I think it would play havoc on her intestines. She has a weak stomach and I think the transition period could possibly cause lots of accidents in the house. As far as the homemade treats, my aunt used to do that for her dogs and they loved them.

You might be surprised at how much better her stomach does after the adjustment period, though. The standard dog foods are not natural and cause major health issues for dogs. Read up about it at wysong.com and you'll see how bad the pet food industry has snowed consumers.

I don't own any dogs, but we have occasionally cooked some food for the cats which usually goes over pretty well. Of course, I can imagine that dogs would like it as well

Occasional cooked tidbits are fine but keep in mind that cats and dogs do not know how to cook. They ate a raw diet for thousands of years in the wild and that is how they're genetically set up. Cooking destroys many of the amino acids in proteins, among other things.

We have a pitbull and she loves her raw diet. We started it when she was a puppy so we didn't have any transitional issues. She couldn't be healthier or happier!
