REALLY, do not need pets. It sounds so mean but its true, I know someone who just got a cat and has very little patience, this of course for most pet owners does come with practice, but I am not sure this mate is going to get it.

That is definitely true! I have some neighbors behind me with 2 dogs they have no business having. They never play with them, they keep them chained all the time, and they bark constantly!

No argument from me on this one. Pets take time and effort to raise and take care of. If you don't have the time, don't own a pet. Just that simple.

I agree 100%! The people that live behind me have 2 big dogs that they keep outside year round. That's ok if they have the proper shelter and are quite but these dogs bark ALL the time. I've called the city on them I don't know how many times and they still allow their dogs to bark. It's not the dogs fault but the owners fault for not taking proper care of them. They leave their yard trashed out and looking like a junkyard rather than a yard in the burbs. I'm so glad I'm moving soon!

I hate seeing dogs chained up all day long, what kind of life is that? I put my dog outside on a chain to use the bathroom sometimes but most of the time he is inside with me or I take him on the leash. Having a pet is a lot of work and takes time and people who get them need to make the committment to take care of them properly.

I agree... it breaks my heart when I see a dog tied up outside and never let off the line. It's like why even bother with a pet if you don't have the time or want to play with your pet?

I honestly do not see the point in getting a pet if it isn't meant to be a member of the family. My animals frequently make me loopy, but they are part of our household and our family and if they weren't here I would be devestated. Leaving dogs outside all the time or mistreating animals in anyway is something that I just cannot comprehend.

A pet is like a child. It requires constant watch, patience and tender loving care like any other youngster. If you do not have patience you shouldn't be trying to care for something that may be a little wild sometimes.

I think the same thing applies for parents who are not really parents. Pet owners and parents need to get something right: what you do shows what kind of person you are. For a pet owner that goes around not caring for the pet, the pet will remember it same thing as a parent, just with possible worse outcomes.

I agree with all of you. My dog is treated like a part of the family. He has a fenced in yard to play in and is also allowed inside. I hate to read stories in the paper about abused animals. I wish I could take them all. I would if I had a farm.
