Default Squirt Bottle

Do you think that using a squirt bottle of water is a good method for disciplining animals? I've found that after the first couple sprays for misbehavior, simply shaking the bottle is a deterrent. It doesn't stop them from getting the idea to misbehave though.

I think it works if you are constantly using the spray bottle. I think it's the repetition that gets them to stop. So say no and then spray and they should learn.

Like Livvie said, I think it does work. Just don't let them get away with things. If you give 1 warning and spray the next time I think it will work. If you just keep giving warnings it's doing anything.

I used to keep a water gun on my kitchen counter to spray the cat if he tried to jump on the counter or the table. It worked pretty well, but he did figure out that if I wasn't in the room to see him get on the counter then he wasn't going to get sprayed.
