Default winter+dogs=dirty floors

I absolutely hate the wet winter months, Every time the dogs come in they track mud all through the house. If I'm at the door, I actually will wash and dry their feet but more often it's someone else letting them in and I'm stuck mopping, again.. and again... and again.

What do you guys do about keeping your dogs from tracking their muddy wet paws all over the house?

I haven't found an answer to this one yet. I do what you do and mop constantly. Keeping a towel by the door and training everyone in the house to wipe the dogs' paws is about all you can do. I tried that, but apparently the people in my house aren't trainable.

I have not found the answer yet either, short of wiping off their feet prior to them coming in the house. But like you, other people let them in and they make a mess.

With the dog we had growing up, we always wiped his feet when coming in from the snow. He was a small dog so his belly had to be wiped too. It was a pain, but we got use to doing it.
