Our animals are neutered, too, for the same reasons as most everyone else. I wish that we could still have our dog's bloodline available because he is such a great dog, but we would do it all over again.

When I used to have a cat, I had it taken care of as soon as possible. Always wanted to be a responsible pet owner so I figured this is how I can do my part to keep the pet population down.

I have 14 animals & they are all fixed, including rabbits when I have one.

My dogs and indoor cat are all fixed. I have some outdoor cats that aren't fixed, but I am okay with them having kittens because they keep the mice and snakes away. Kind of a the-more-the-merrier philosophy. I have no desire to breed any of my dogs so I think having them spayed/neutered is the responsible thing to do.

I refuses to own an animal that isn't fixed, it's not fair to let them know the instinct and be unable to act on it.

We domesticated the creatures, surely fixing them is a kindness to the "new" lifestyle they lead?

My cat was spayed as soon as she was old enough. She will never be outside, but I couldn't take it when she was in heat she meowed day and night for a whole week!

I don't see spaying and neutering as a kindness to the pet you're fixing, but as a kindness to the offspring they may have that you don't want. That's why I let my outdoor cats reproduce - because I know the consequences and I am willing to take care of the kittens. If you don't want puppies or kittens, fixing is the responsible thing to do.

When we got our cat, one of the requirements was that she be fixed. I am not into raising kittens or having a litter of kittens to get rid of.

We have always gotten our pets (except one) from the local SPCA and the only pet who was not fixed that we purchased from a private seller at the time was too young but we had taken care of that when she reached age. There is no reason to not have a pet fixed.

My first dog passed away at 3 years and I never had her spayed. I watched her very closely and we never had any issues. The two I adopted after her were spayed and neutered when I adopted them from the shelter.
