If you have one do you use it for laundry, storage, a family room or something else? I would love to make ours into a wine cellar and food storage area. Plus it would be a good place to store sports items and things. Right now it is a jumble of bits and pieces but has no theme.
I love my basement. Right now it's set up as a family room/play room. The closed off room is my office and the other separated room is set up for storing. It has shelves from the ceiling to the floor on one wall. We do keep all outdoor toys and sports things in there.
I am glad I don't have a basement. I have a pack rat personality, and I I would definitely have it packed with stuff that I probably wouldn't use or even need. However, if I could call it a family room, I would love one.
When we built our house, we opted to not have a basement because it's just the two of us in the house. If I had one, though, I would probably exercise down there in the winter.
I don't really like basements. I find them really creepy and they're always really cold. As a kid, that's where I would never go because of all the spiders. It was always so freezing and dark.
