Default Blankets; where are they?

We have a ton of extra blankets but I have no idea where to store them all. We keep extra on hand for friends and family that sometimes crash at our place, but lately its like they are multiplying!

We have a ton as well and we keep getting them as gifts and stuff. I am thinking about getting some of those space bags to store all of ours because they are taking up a ton of room in the basement right now.

Quilts are insane in this house. I swear if someone else showers me with a gift quilt I am going to ask them if they expect me to sleep outside this winter. We easily have 15 that I can think of right now.

I am also debating getting a large chest for some of them. The prices have been insane though, one place wanted $700.00 for a chest that I swear looked like it was made from plywood.

We have 2 chests, 1 in living room and 1 in kitchen. Both actually have blankets and pillows in them. I love it though - out of sight, out of mind.

Have you thought of putting them between the mattress and box springs? That's what we used to do. Now, I've gotten quite a few of the "Space" bags that you can vacuum the air from. It really makes things much easier to store too.

I am in the same boat as many of you...I seem to get quilts, throws, and blankets for gifts every year and now I have too many. I found a church that will take them to donate to homeless shelters in New York City. I have a pile that I'm donating, after all I can only use so many at a time. Check and see if you have any church groups or thrift stores in your area. If you don't have them you don't need to store them.
