Default Ebay or garage sales

We are hoeing out the house again. Usually we do this in the spring and then spring clean. We are a bit late this year. How often do you go through everything and get rid of things? The things we look at are clothing, toys, books, etc.

We usually have a big yard sale with 2 other families. It’s a ball getting together and chatting all weekend long, and making money in the process. This year we don’t have enough to have the big sale. I told my daughter she can list things on e-bay instead. Today she is working on taking the pictures and uploading to the computer.

Anyone else clean out and get rid of things? How do you get rid of them?

If I don't have enough for a yard or garage sale, I usually just give it to charity. But eBay sounds like an idea. I haven't listed on there before so I may have to explore a bit. Don't you have to pay something if you sell on there?

Ebay is a great ideal. I have an Ebay store and I normally sell only books, dvd's and cd's. But once in a while I will find something around the house and will put it on Ebay too. It usually sells. Good luck and tell your daughter to have fun.

I have a great lamp that has three tiny shelves attached to it we found out at a yard sale a couple of years ago. Brought it home, swamped out the light, fixed the wiring (old time wiring I might add) and did a quick repaint job and its good as new.

I sell books and other things on ebay if I know they are a little unusual and harder to find at the store, like old magazines or craft supplies. But in my area, garage sales bomb because there is no traffic on my road.

We have an annual garage sale which gets rid of much of the yearly clutter. There are certain types of items that sell well on ebay and that's gotten me a bit of change over the years. It's a lot of work if you have numerous items you're trying to sell. I know people who practically run ebay like a business. Whatever works, though, to get rid of the excess.

I usually just give my stuff away. I either donate it to the Salvation Army or I will give it to a friend. I usually do not have a lot of stuff all at once, so a yard sale is out.

I love garage sales but we don't do them very often because we don't have that much stuff to sell. But I like the eBay option very much.

I usually have a garage sale once a year. I am not sure how I end up with so much stuff. My problem is, I sell it--make money and go buy more stuff that ends up in the next yard sale.
