Default Great Storage idea

A friend of mine showed me a great tip that she uses to organize several areas of her home. She uses the over the door shoe racks with the plastic pockets. She has one on her laundry room door for cleaning products, and another on her pantry door. The pantry door one has things like spice mixes, and fruit cups for the kids. Great idea and clears up some cabinet space too!

Thanks for sharing that tip! Not only does it add extra storage space, but those racks are pretty inexpensive too! I'm going to pick up a couple of them next week because I have tons of little odds and ends that need a "home."

I have one over the laundry room door too that holds all of the ironing stuff, we had one for our daughters room but she managed to break it. I think I should get another set for our closet in the new bedroom. Anyone know of some good deals for them?

That is a really good idea. We have tons of shelving in the laundry room and my pantry isn't big enough for anything like that though.

I do that! That is, my wife does that. It is a great way to save space in all the rooms, especially in the bathroom or in the kitchen, like you said.

Oh yes, shoe racks with plastic pockets are a great aid when it comes to organizing. We have several of these in our home. One is in my room, which holds my accessories and other girly stuff. Another is in the laundry. This houses cleaning and other household products.

If your pantry has doors or is actually a cabinet, you can use the metal/plastic hanging spice racks, or those that are meant for a bathroom and mounthtem to the interior of the door. That's my project as soon as I find the racks. Our Walmart has had a total of one for weeks now, and I need several.

These shoe organizers are great to hang in the closets behind the clothes, too, so the stuff in them is out of the way yet accessible when you need it. All you have to do is move the clothes over. It takes up such a little amount of space. I have a winter/fall one and a spring/summer one.

Something like this sounds a lot more useful than those infomercial bags that you put your stuff in and compress. You can actually access and keep your stuff in tip-top shape with over-the-door organizers; not so with what I call "pancake" storage.
