Default Has anyone used the space savers?

I hope I'm thinking of the correct brand name. I'm talking about those "as seen on TV" storage bags. You're supposed to use the vacuum to suck out the air from the space saver bags. But does it work without ruining your things? It's hard to imagine how you could compress your clothes like that and have them return like new. Has anyone used these?

Well we got some not to long ago and put a bunch of things in them. They don't suck up as tight as they look on TV but I think it might take two people to make it work right. One to keep flattening it while the other uses the Vac to get the air out. Now, we haven't taken them out yet so can't tell you that part.

Avery, we are on our third season of using them and they work great! I'm actually getting our winter things out now and they really do return to normal. The best part is there is no weird smell or moth holes.

I have a friend who used those during a move and she couldn't get them to flatten like they do on TV. Maybe Emelia is right and you need two people to get the job done. She struggled with them enough that it kind of turned me off so I haven't tried them.

Avery, I was not happy with the space bags. If you watch the commercial closely, the examples they use of the super flat bags usually only have 2-3 items in them. They are pretty expensive to only put 2-3 items in one bag. When packed to the "max fill" line, they are still very bulky to try and store on a shelf. I still use mine because they do a great job preventing the plastic smell you get with plastic totes. I had the best luck with the big "Cube" bags for storing comforters and blankets.

I have never had one myself but I know a few people who have, some said they loved it and others said it was horrible. It might depend if you are using a knock down brand or not, maybe it has something to do with the plastic used?

Well I am glad I came across this because I have been debating on getting these. I don't want to get them if they are still going to take a lot of space or be a pain to work.
