Default House & Home

How long does it take the average family to make their house a home? For almost everyone I know that has to work hard (I have some friends who were blessed with rich families) they really had to work at it. I did find with my apartment, but married life is different trying to combo two types into one.

We've been in our current house for two and a half years and it still isn't the way I want it. Now we're talking about building a new house next year - yippee, I get to start all over again.

When we moved into our house we immediately redecorated and restructured the garden. We know that it's now the way we want it and to our taste not the previous owners and this is what makes it our home.

My parents and I moved a lot, and my Dad felt like 6 months to truly feel settled, remember where things are.

My first house it didn't take long at all, I guess because I was excited about my first home. Our second, it's been 4 years and I feel like I just moved in.

Maybe because I've been so slow about fixing things up. Painting, gardening and what not.

Combining two people in to one house can be difficult and when you add kids to the mix then it becomes even more difficult. Of course to me it is the family that makes my house a home.
