Default How do you keep your playroom organized?

This is such a sore spot for me. We have bins for things so all the toys can be picked up off the floor, but my children don't keep any of their toys sorted. How do you keep all of the little things organized?

When my kids were little, we just had a toybox and they threw everything in there. If they wanted something, they just dug for it. I've never been called a good organizer though so I'm sure someone has a better way of doing things.

Oh I'm not sure there is such a thing as a kept playroom. We have a ton of organizational methods set up in the playroom however, it remains a mess. We have shelves, 2 toy boxes and a drawer stand. I think the main problem is they just have too much stuff.

I do think too much stuff is to blame when organizing is impossible. Younger kids are not going to be able to organize the same way as an adult, so try to make your system as easy as possible.

My sister-in-law is pretty organized, so she had a couple of toy boxes placed in the playroom. The idea is to have a separate box for each kind or category of toys. There's a box for the toy cars, and a different one for the toy robots, and so on. My nephew is only three, but my sis-in-law has been trying to train him to store his toys properly.
