We are going to have a huge re-organization project ahead of us. Our extra bedroom (that has become a giant closet) is going to be needed as a bedroom so now I have to find somewhere to put all this stuff!
Yard sale it or donate it, thats the best option when you do not actually need the stuff. My attic used to be the same way and then I went on a large cleaning spree. When I was done it was almost empty.
I just did that because our spare room had to be turned into an office for me. I got rid of a bunch of stuff and reorganized everything. What wasn't junk was sent to Goodwill.
The key is to touch an item only once and decide if it is something you are really going to utilize, if it could serve someone else better or if it is just garbage. If you haven't used it in more than a year, chances are you are not going to use it again and it is just taking space. If you have items that have "sentimental" value, you need to decide if you are going to display it or take a picture of it and upload it in the computer.
Good advice Lucretia. I would do what you have suggested. I also need to arrange my room because it looks like a mess right now. I was looking for a DVD lately and I found it after an hour of searching.
I really need to get organized...NOW
