Default Kid's Papers And Artwork

What do you do with yours? I have the hardest time throwing out some of my kid's papers especially artwork. I have 3 bags, they are bags which blankets came in and they zip up, full of papers but don't have the heart to throw them away.

Tell me about it, I have the large totes of school work and art work. My daughter is now in high school and I have totes for all grades. I love pulling out the Kindergarten and 1st grade stuff--- it's great! I can't part with it either.

At some point I need to pull it out and keep about 20 things from each large tote and put it in scrapbooks. When? I have no idea!

I'm not sure if it was this forum or not but I had shared my idea once before and I really think it is a great way to cherish those papers. I take photos or scan each of my children's artwork/graded papers and other honorable works. I save them onto a usb drive and I also print them onto 4x6 photo paper and put them into a photo album for my children. We then send the actual papers to friends and family as gifts or send them to the nursing homes too.

I can see not being able to part with this stuff. My daughter hasn't reached artwork age yet, but when she does I know I'll be joining Sunny14 and buying a bunch of Rubbermaid bins to store her stuff in. I've tried to tone down my "pack ratting" habits in recent years, but when it comes to my kid's artwork and school papers, etc I'm going to have to hold onto it.

I was thinking of making them each an art notebook to keep their school artwork in. I have a really hard time throwing their stuff away. I heard someone on the radio talking about how their mom made them an art book and gave it to them when they were older. He said he really appreciated that fact that his mom saved his artwork all those years and put together a really nice book for him.
