Default Magazines and newspapers

I get a ton of magazines in the mail. Plus, we get the newspaper all the time. Of course I do not have a whole lot of time to read all the magazines that come in instantly. My counters seem to become overloaded with them.

Do you have a special way of storing your magazines and newspapers until you can get to them?

They certainly do add up and clutter a house quickly.

We have the same issue in our home. I sell magazines so as you can imagine we have way too many subscriptions. I can't help myself each time a magazine subscription that I have been wanting goes on sale, I just have to order it!

My initial solution were these:

I bought three of them since they were around $15 each it was a good bargain. I have one in each bathroom, as atrocious as it sounds my husband and the children need their reading materials in there, as well as having put one next to my husbands recliner. I simply took the rod for toilet paper off of the one next to his recliner. As much as this has helped our magazine issue, its still not enough. My next solution is this I think,

These run between $40 and $60 and I think it will add a nice touch to our living area. The two baskets underneath will house many newspapers and magazines! Maybe that is something you could use.

Those are great organizational storage products. I love the one for the bathroom.

Well I read the paper right away and then put it in the recycyling bin. I hate clutter!

Magazines are another story. A lot of times the ones that are for me, I will take to work. I can read more there on breaks than at home some days. I won't keep magazines around for long. I hate that cluttered look remember. I also have a wicker basket that I toss the magazines in. This sits beside the chair in the living room (almost out of sight). It's a good place to store the magazines until we can get to them.

That is wonderful that you have the option to recycle. We have no bins here for recycling, infact the closest bins are around a 3 hour drive. We have one bin located only an hours drive which I would gladly keep bulk and load up to carry over to there however you must show your license to prove your residency within the state, and its not in our state, even though its but an hour away. Makes no sense to me.

I always read and release my magazines. Release means to give it away the following day so that it's not sitting around my house for any longer than necessary! I have a basket that I keep my mags in and it sits beside my couch.

I like the idea of the wicker baskets. I hate clutter as well, but boy! I am a clutter type person..lol Mail, magazines and newspapers (as I said) are my downfall. I think I will go out and purchase those baskets.

I also like the read and release idea. I will have to try that as well.

We have used small basket areas but nothing like that, and we have a full and a 1/2 bath here, the 1/2 is the worst since we have a lack of space but those are awesome. My mate loves anything geeky (so do I do a point) but I love anything organizational. If it saves time and space, I am so there.

Great way to recycle or reuse rather I would say. I have started taking our papers to the local gas station each week and leaving them on the lounge table so that others can read so I have a work in progress going with figuring out how to reuse things.

I have small areas like that in just about every room of the house so if the adults do not need something to read, the kids put their books in it. We are full of Dr. Seuss around here.

I have a magazine stand and the most I allow myself is two complete month's worth of magazines. As soon as the third month's magazines start coming in, I make myself start going through them and discard them so that I never have more than two months on-hand at a time.
