Default Organized Simplicity

I just bought this book Organized Simplicity on Amazon for my kindle. I can not wait to dig into it. The idea of embracing simplicity to help organize my home is looking very attractive to me now. Don't get me wrong....my house is clean, but I have so much clutter in the form of magazines, books, and bric-a-brac. It's not very relaxing on the eyes. In fact, it's becoming very stressful.

I try to embrace simplicity but my other half is the exact opposite. I don't like clutter. I might have to get him this book.

homebase that sounds very similar to a book I bought called Simplistic Parenting. It goes on the theory that "less is more" with parenting. I guess those same concepts can apply to your home, as well. Please share a tip or two with us if you learn anything interesting.

Well I am on day 2 of the organization part of the book. The first day was a quick sweep of the house. Going from room to room and removing all the obvious garbage first (newspapers, magazines, junk mail, broken toys, etc.), then going back and quickly clearing out anything that you immediately want to get rid of. The point of day 1 is just to do it quick and keep moving so that you are motivated to go on to day 2! I have to say, I noticed an improvement by the end of day 1 and I hadn't even tackled and of the "real" clutter. Today I go more in depth in the living room and kitchen!
