I have boxes and boxes of old papers, cards, schoolwork. I'm trying to decide what I should keep and what I should get rid of. I just have too much these days and so I'm trying to thin it all out.
That is not always an easy decision to make, sometime ago I had to do it. My earlier years notebooks, I kept one or two from each stage. Things that I haven't used for a while, I throw them out too.
Are they of importance or are they only important to you because of what they are about/for/from. There is a difference between keeping saying your child's first report card, and some piece of paper you got that has no meaning behind it anymore.
There are many reasons why a person should not keep tons of papers stored in their home. My favorite reasons for not keeping papers are #1 because they can easily take over a whole room before you know it and #2 because large accumulations of paper increase your homes fire hazards.
I usually throw away things like bills that have been paid and it`s from months ago. I keep all my bank statements for about 5 years then toss them. I have a small box that I have my kids first drawings in. Plus some of their baby clothes. It`s hard for me to get rid of stuff too that have sentimental reasons.
